An ancient medical treatise begins with these words: “All people have legs, just as all trees have a root. The depletion of a tree starts from the root, and aging of a person from the feet." As an experiment, try to pay attention to your feet for at least 5-10 minutes a day. This will help restore the natural strength of the body.

The feet touch the ground, giving us support and the ability to move. In our soles, many energy flows and nerve endings intersect, there are more than sixty active zones and points, each of which corresponds to a specific organ of the body. By acting on them, we thereby influence the organs associated with them, improve blood access to them and lymph circulation, and also affect the body as a whole, that is, we improve our own well-being. And foot massage can also relieve stress, help you relax and cheer up.

The easiest and most natural way to massage your feet is to walk on the ground, mown grass, forest needles in summer. At the same time, we also get the power of the earth in its purest form. In winter, we can make ourselves a small massage mat: sew a semblance of pockets on a suitable piece of dense fabric and fill them with smooth pebbles, cereals, cherry or apricot pits. Such a rug imitates a pebble beach, it is useful to stomp on it with bare feet for 5-10 minutes a day. This strengthens the ankle joints and prevents the development of flat feet, swelling of the legs subsides, and a pleasant feeling of lightness arises.

Hard bath mats, Lyapko applicators, massagers with pimpled wheels for rolling on the feet are also excellent for massage of the feet. Another great way is to knead with one leg with the other. And of course, the easiest way is to take your foot with both hands and massage it thoroughly. 

If you feel pain or tightness somewhere in the foot, you should pay increased attention to this area. It is useful to massage in the evening after a 15-minute warm bath in a decoction of herbs, when the pores are open and the feet are relaxed. And if you do this massage in the morning, it will increase your efficiency for the whole day.

Massage can be performed in two ways: using the phalanges of the fingers, rub the entire surface of the sole and ankle, or, using the foot map, act through the corresponding zones and points on the internal organs.

Gymnastics for the feet

This exercise can be done in bed in the morning and evening. With your toes you write letters in the air. You can choose only a few styles (in this case, repeat the exercise 3 times for each foot), or you can write the entire alphabet.

.  Scatter small objects on the floor and pick them up with your fingers.

.  Place a cotton ball between your fingers and try to squeeze and unclench it.

.  Wrap the elastic around all of your fingers, trying to spread your fingers apart to stretch it. Repeat 
   10 times.

.  Place a towel on a suitable surface. Holding one end with one foot and the other end with the other, 
   start rolling the towel with your fingers.

.  Take a small ball, put your foot on it and roll with your foot. Repeat 10 times.

How to properly massage the feet, regardless of whether you will be doing it for yourself or for someone else?

Pull the foot first down all the way, like a ballerina, then up, in the "ironing" pose. Grasp the foot with both hands so that the thumbs are on top, and stroke the instep of the foot with them - from the bottom up, but not vice versa. The movements should be strong enough, but not unpleasant for you. Pat each finger (tip to base). Now turn the foot so that the thumbs are on the sole, and again massage in a circular motion, starting from the toes and ending with the heel. Then grab your toes and twist them slightly. Massage each finger. Wrap your hands around your foot and squeeze it lightly.

Massage your sole and instep again. Pull slightly again. Grasp the foot with one hand and the leg at the base of the ankle with the other, and twist the foot first in one direction, then in the other. 

Over time, experience comes, and we begin to feel when and how to press.
